Sec 3 Adventure Camp

Hahas, just came back from the Kota Tinggi camp. It totally SUCKS!!! Firstly, the tents were so freaking small and we had to fit in 7 people per tent!!! We had no space to sleep after we put our bags. The tent was also infested with ants, cockroaches eggs and cockroaches, YEWWW!!! So digusting. Then the food sux too. Rice with raw vegggies and rubber-like meat. Totally inedible. Then the activities were average. DAY 1: We did some low element activities and it was quite fun. After that we went to bathe in the smelly, creepy crawlies infested toilet to have our bath. Then, it was dinner time. After that we had a short break and then we had to assemble in the cantten for some briefing. Then, after the briefing, we went to sleep. Everyone was sleeping like a log and Gavin was snoring like a wild boar and his tent mates cannot sleep. Inside our tent, Liyang suddenly shouted, Where's my stuff, and we all laugh!!! In De Sheng's tent, Stephen suddenly shouted, De Sheng lend me foolscap paper in his dreams and we were all laughing!!! DAY 2: We woke up then we went to brush up ourselves then after breakfast (the best meal in the camp), we went to pelapah waterfalls. We were so happily chatting in a short while, we reach checkpoint 1. With hard work and teamwork, we reach checkpoint 2. Then, we had our outdoor cooking there. After that, my group continued up the waterfalls. Everywhere was so dangerous and tricky. I kept falling and had cuts and bruises on my legs. Finally, we reach checkpoint 3. We played there, then it started to rain. Shit!!! We had to climb down, and I nearly lost my life. While climbing down, my hands slip off the rope and I fell from about 7 storey high down. Luckily, I managed to hold on to a rock and slowly come down. My hands were trembling with fear throughout the expedition and with determination, we managed to go back safely to the camp site for a hot bath and finally dinner. It was so cold that nght, and when we were sleeping, we were shivering and the chairs we were sleeping on kept shaking. DAY 3: Again, brushing up, then we stayed in the campsite for some water activities. We did jetty jump. We had to shout out our goals and jump into the lake. I did it!!! I have overcome my aqua phobia and I enjoyed it!!! Then, we did Indiana Jones. It was quite fun, then we went for lunch. Then, we had to sit in the mud pool and the stupid, idiotic instructor went to pour mud all over us. YEWWW!!! Erjill and my white shirt had turned into brown!!! We were so pissed off and decided not to participate in the river cascading. Then, we went back to the campsite for a bath, then we had dinner and after dinner, the fun part came, we nned to choose a hero and dress him up well, and of course, it was De Sheng. We 'dressed' him up and called him the Chinaman. During the campfire, it was really fun, especially De Sheng's performance. It was humourous!!! Then, we went for our nYAA reflection with Mrs Jean Koh and went to sleep. We all packed our bags and slept well. DAY 4: Time to go home!!! WE were so happy, and after our breakfast, we did area cleaning and then proceed to the waiting area and we waited for an hour before a prize presentation was started. Asraf, Vishnu, Gregory and De Sheng received a medal of great leadership and encouragement from Mr. Marcel Lee. Then, we boarded the bus and we were playing cards for a while, then some of us dozed off. Then, we reached the Malaysia checkpoint. After we hap chopped our passports, we went back to Singapore. Everyone cheered when we reached Singapore. After all the procedures, we went back to school. On our way back, there was a traffic jam, and everyone grumbled. When we reached school, the whole school was dissmissed already and we went home after some talk by Mrs Jean Koh. I was so happy to go home. I miss my comfy bed, home cooked food, clean environment!!! Got to go, bye bye!!!

With determination and perservance,

everyone can overcome their fears

and overcome challenges in life.
